Polystyrene particles, Superparamagnetic, Fluorescent, Unmodified (PS-MAG-Fluo)
The preparation of our magnetic fluorescent particles consists of a multi-step process, including particle synthesis/iron oxide incorporation, the coating of the magnetic microspheres with a special polymer and the immobilization of one or more fluorophores into this polymer shell. By this strategy, dual magnetic and fluorescent polystyrene particles with high monodispersity (CV < 5 %), spherical morphology, excellent magnetic response, and strong fluorescence can be achieved. At the moment, the products are available in three sizes with diameters of 1 µm, 5 µm and 10 µm. They are supplied as a 1 % w/v aqueous suspension. After suitable surface modification, the microbeads can be used in a variety of applications like cell separation, nucleic acid isolation, biomolecule purification, and particle-based immunoassays.
